I spent most of last week in Seattle for my brother's wedding. This was my first time to Seattle, let alone the Northwest above CA.
First, if looking out a window, the place is amazing. We were on Lake Washington, about 8 minutes from Bill Gate's house. There was a marina right next to the hotel and from the glass, everything was amazing.
Now, once you stepped outside, holy hell, for May it was what Phoenix was like in the middle of January. Cold as sh*t. The high was about 60 degrees each day. Now it doesn't really snow there much but you get lows in the 30s for 9 months out of the year.
Now, the start of boating season up there was on Saturday, and it was raining a little with temps in the upper 40s at 10 AM. Boat season my a$$!!!! They make a HUGE deal about the start of the season. It was on every news channel for days building up to Saturday.
Those people up there have some great scenery, but they are frickin nuts. Boating there would be miserable! I dont even know why they have a "no swimming" sign at the dock, seems pointless to me. There were yachts up to about 85' long at the marina that was next to our hotel.
Dont let this view fool you, it is damn cold outside.

Should have let us know you were coming. Plenty of ***boaters in the area to show you the lake. Come back in July - Sept and you'll love it.:)

85 degrees, and that place would be AWESOME. I am sure it gets to that temp for about 16 total hours per year. ;) I love how so many houses are right on the water. Then as you get close to downtown, the water is nothing but boats, they are all over the place.
I couldn't believe how many boats were there. They are everywhere!!! Big yachts too! Actually, I noticed more big boats than I did small (small being 30' and under).
I cant belive you have a DCB up there. You have to be the only 1.
I did notice a few Fountains as well.
Oh... Your weather guys dont know their head from their a$$. :D

Unfortunately not. Had back surgery on Thursday. Besides boat is still in Havi. Plan on bring it back up in June with a stop at Shasta for the Cat Attack.
We've actually got lots of ***boats up here to include several OL's, Nor-techs, 3 DCB's, bunches of Fountains, Donzi's and Baja's, plus several Skaters. Summer events include numerous poker runs from Sidney, BC to Portland, regattas, and just hanging out. Check out our CdA Regatta set for 18 August. http://www.nwoffshore.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1888
Tres Martin will actually be here for his 2nd High Performance Class in June. Although our season is short, we try to make the best of it. If fact, we had close to 30 boats go down to Havi for Desert Storm this year.

First of all. Cool you visited the NW. Now...If you come up here in July-August you will buy a house :). Seriously, I have been boating in Havasu for over 6 years. But...come mid-June thru August we are up boating in the NW (more on the east side of WA next do ID - Coeur d'Alene, ID). Too hot in Havasu but perfect in ID - temps are 80s-90s and often approaching 100.
Don't knock it until you try it. We have a Performance Boat Regatta August 18th on CdA Lake, ID. See you there??????
