I have a 18.5' 1973 Southwind and am looking for someone that can reupholster the bench seat. here is a picture of the boat

What I would like to do though is make the middle of the seat a cooler in order to keep people from sitting there. This is a safety reason in case the motor hits something, the motor is designed to pivot, and if it hits something hard enough it could hit a person in the head if they are sitting high in the middle of that seat.
So I would like to use the existing seat and then add additional wood and then fiberglass it in to seal it for a cooler. :)
Who out there is good at upholstering.

If you hit something hard enough to lift your engine up & out of the water the person sitting in front of it will most likely be launched forward and have other things to worry about. Just my $.02
