Ok, so I bought this item for my stereo thinking it would let me control the ipod from the head unit/remotes....well it turns out that it is not compatable with my head unit....too old I guess (it's a 2005). The head unit just keeps powering on and off...I even hit the reset button so that it would re-calibrate. So anyway, now I have this thing, and don't want the hassle of returning it. Should I fork out the bucks to upgrade the head unit or just buy one of those aftermarket peripheral to rca adapters and just create play lists...(no control except volume). I do have the unilink XA-C40 that will allow me to run rca inputs. I might hold onto the XA-110IP for use later, or maybe sell it on craigs list or something. What do all of you think?
