just got back from a direct buy open house membership sales pitch. My buddy is a major consumer he buys shit just to buy shit. I went for a ride along with him and sat through the whole deal. its funny they wont let you look at there catalogs until you shell out the 6k for the membership and then its $200. a year. its not really a good deal for me as I am not a large consumer of goods. so he shells out the 6k and we start looking through the catalogs and surprisingly enough their are some great deals to be had. "front load washer dryer" home depot around $1900. direct buy $1300. pretty good prices on prefab cabinets. I think if you do your homework you can save some dough. I hear that they get you on the shipping a little bit. anyone a member and how has it been?

I hear the "return" process is difficult as well.

It's not such a great deal with all of the big brick and morter stores we have in socal... Have a customer who did the same thing. Most people won't realize significant savings unless they are remodeling and refurnishing an entire house...

I agree. We have a membership and have broken even, but unless you buy a lot it will not pay.
