Do you run the labbed 28 year round? One of my brothers has a sportdeck with the 525EFI and he alternates between a 26p and 24p prop depending on the load in the boat. The 24 is a bit too small, but he likes being able to get on plane quickly so he's willing to give up a few MPH for that.
Howard builds a very nice boat - Looking forward to seeing the big bullet when is is complete.

So what does the boat run with a 525/26 prop and please dont exaggerate :D We were watching the pretty NEXT make some runs on Wed and it looked like it ran out real well to me, maybe 80+, happen to know what drive/motor it was running?? Thanks, NSF

Had lunch with Gene at Howard today. The Howard 28 SportDeck that was taken to the Hot Boat trials on Wednesday was powered with a Merc 525 and was runnning a 28 pitch labed prop. The boat ran 81.5mph on gps with two people in it, 50 gals of gas and was hitting the revlimiter at 5400rpm. Pretty damn good in ~100* heat.

We plan on running the 28 year round, just took delivery of the boat in December.
Met your brother with the Howard last year the weekend he picked it up and saw him again at the regatta.

I can't speak for the 26 since we run the 28/525 but we have seen 79 on ours with 3 adults and ~40-50 gallons of fuel...

Unfortunately, Gene lost one of his workers who does alot of the color sanding and has put my delivery off by a couple of weeks at last count. By the looks of the shop, they are manufacturing 90% Sport Decks these days.

As everyone knows I think the Howard name speaks for itself. I have no complaints and couldn't be happier with our boat and the way it was set up. I don't think I have met two better business men in a long time than both Gene from Howard and Gary Taylor from Taylor Performance (TPI700).
Thanx guys!

They don't need to. You pay the same as the last guy who bought. Gene will show you their POs. I actually appreciate this since I heard that DCB sells their boats at all differenct prices and it ends up pissing off everyone that didn't get that one killer deal. If you are anxious for a Sport Deck, Gene built one hull on spec (it is red/gray) and they would probably be able to deliver it within 30-45 days after you select your power plant and options provided he has not sold it within the last week or so when I was there last.

I saw your boat in Howard's shop in late February when we ordered our new Sport Deck. The colors of your boat are stunning let me tell you! I can't tell you how close we came to using the same colors. Can't wait to see it in person this summer.
Look forward to seeing you at the Howard Regatta!

Here are pics of the one that SCB is referring to. Still available as of when we left Howard on Friday but I do know that at least two potential customers are interested in it. If you want it, give Gene a call...
