So the Carrera has a log that leaks every two years where it meets the riser. About three years ago the alum. was trued up and new studs were put in, but it's leaking again. RTV was used in the past with metal-reinforced gaskets... but what do ya'll think about grease instead? Any other stuff I haven't thought about?

I found that the gaskets sold at industrial type plumbing houses for 4-inch flanges fit perfect (I think that was the size). They are made for high pressure for water lines, but do not breakdown from the heat of the exhaust. Cost me a couple bucks, I still used a little gasket sealer, but never another drop leaked. They are blue green in color. They should be sized based on the inner diameter of your exhaust flange.
