The latest video. The ride back to the ramp in the Cougar at sunset.
WARNING 25 megs 4 minutes long. Recorded in the least quality for the smallest file.
Starts off letting the engine warm up, shut it off, put it in gear, drive off, make 2 passes past the hang out beach, drive toward the ramp.
The last blast has violent sponson walk. I knew instantly what it was. Back at the ramp found both turnbuckles broken loose from the center cavatation plate, one missing completely. Easy fix.
If the video does not run - right click on the link, save it to your coumpter, then run it.
Enjoy :D

That was cool. Like the kids grin. Bet that last 30 sec of video was kinda freaky. :D

That last 30 seconds was the norm. Bring it up to the speed that flattens your face and hold it. Does not take much throttle.
Info Jr. really likes that.

3 year old engine still hanging in there.
Cav plates in poor shape. Going to replace the center plate this week. Pulled the bolts for the pads right through. One turnbuckle exited the boat. Going to try the 4 bolt billet pads this time.

Yep been there done that, 4 bolt pads are the only way to go!..

It's amazing how important the cav plate is on that tunnel boat. It is just there. Never touch the pedal unless I leave really hard. Then dump it as soon as it sets.

Hey Info - what was the top MPH caught on this tape?. - just curious Not sure man. I just ease into the throttle and let off each time just as it was starting to wind out the last bit. Always do that with Jr. on board. You will have to look at the tach on the video.
Take whatever you see and use 16 pitch prop and 37 gears.

You know,
That reminded me of my little excursion with Billy in the K-Boat. My wife does not know it yet but unfortunatly I am starting to realize that a blown injected deal is going to need to happen.

You might like these. Chasing down jet boats. One very quick one. The first video I am on the far outside. I let them leave usually as long as they do not short me on the race.
