Need a little help. Has anyone had problems with a new pump not picking up a prime. I had problems with this on both engines with new Mercruiser pumps. If I rev the engines to 1500 RPM they will pick it up, but the port engine loses it when I back down to idle. I have had everthing apart, drives off etc... Everything works great once overboard but makes a real pain to flush salt. I do not have low water pick up.
Thanks.

if you have done all of that its a air leak in the main houseing

I did replace the whole assembly on both engines. They are standard left hand rotation and I hooked up the hoses as the back of the housings said to. What is the main housing? Thanks.
