I had a 501 BBF in my old 19 Hallett. Motor ran hard and never let me down. I put a Chevy in my Schiada but that was only beacause it was all set-up for one.

That is no excuse for giving up on the blue oval! :( You should have proven your love by setting it up for a FORD!!! motor plates and a trans (which you rebuilt anyways) shame on you Travis! the Ford crate motor is actually less $$ and makes more power too... ;)

I have always loved this arguement. Its 1966/67 and a Ford engine designer has a bbc mark IV setting on his drafting board and he is trying to come up with an engine to kick this things ass and the best he could come with is the 385. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED!!!!
