I am wanting to put a speedometer in my boat that has a stationary cavitation plate. Could I cut a slot in the plate to install the part with out causing a lot of problems? or has anyone else installed a speedomter that could help me to figure this out?
Thank for your input.

What type of V-drive are you running?
If you have a casale you can run one off of the v-drive.
Call this guy, Del at Speedo-Tach
559-266-9103
He can set you up with the 90 degree adapter & cable, or what ever you need to do the job.
Try talking like you know something, because he hates stupid phone calls.

It shows you how many beers I have had tonight!
After I posted I thought about it for a minute & realized this is for RPM.
WTF was I thinking about!

I'd build a bracket to mount the pitot off the back of the plate (done this a few times, works good). Problem with a slot is it's going to be a fountain of water squirting up in the air around the tube through the slot.
Actually I'd use a GPS rather than go through all this in today's world.

DUDE.......GPS fo sho!!!
Pony up! Easy installation and much more accurate. I think they are around $350. I have an analog style from Nordskog, and REX has some sweet one's too.
