Funk That! At 16 years old I had that sh!t. One of the more painful times in my life. How in h3ll does someone get that at 16? Nobody ever figured that out. I feel for those that have to go through with that...

it's a re-occurance of the chicken pox, but WAY more painful. I have a couple of friends that got hit with it after being exposed to chicken pox from their kids...the bummer part about it is, shingles can return again & again.

Yeah, Herpes Zoster is the same virus log as chicken pox. I was told that the chances of getting it again are basically nill; like getting chicken pox a second time. I suppose that's good b/c it tends to be more prevalent in gericatrics (sp) when older folks have a depressed immune system, for them it can be life-threatening :( . The virus hangs out in the spinal cord and can re-emerge at any time... it felt like my back/spine was on fire. This is off the top of my head -so I'm sure someone will correct me if I went arai.
