I have a 454 Mag MPI that just started to sputter / miss / cr#p out under hard acceleration, like when pulling a skier. Once moving the motor runs fine, pulls close to redline with not a trace of the problem.
Replaced fuel filter with no success, is this a job for a scan tool diagnosis, or would I get lucky with plugs, wires ??
Thanks for any pointers or experience that can be shared.

The new fuel mix really sucks. It can't take any moisture at all. It also is more prone to shelacking. Maybe try a good fuel additive? Hope you find it soon. The season is short enough as it is!!

Might be worth a look at the plugs also. Won't cost to look.

K100, you want the marine additive. Here is the website. They have a great description of how bad this ethanol mix is for small engines and boats. Especially fiberglass tanks.
