just installed in blown gas tunnel 1,000 hp what would be a starting point in time from start to full rpm. how do you hold the boat on the rope after you fire the motor. no reverse to help hold it. I'm new at this.thanks

You dont need reverse to hold it on the rope, you only want neutral.
Every boat wants a different launch profile. I would start out with something that starts at 5k and ramps up for .5 second. Without a data logger a launch controller can be hard to really dial but its better than just using the rev limiter IMO.
