I'll bet you girls would hate outboards a whole lot less if you didn't have to experience a small outboard powered tunnel buzzing past you a near twice your speed when you're running flat out. Sure, the outboard pilot will be holding on to the wheel like they just opened the pressure doors on the space shuttle to vent the air pressure from cabin, but you get to suck his tiny wake, all the same.
Outboarders don't need the respect of the Stern drive guys. They're faster so it's on the stern drive kiddies to earn the respect of the outboards. :cool:

Well to tell you the truth 99.9% of Canadians are STIFFS. They don't tip S##T. I deal cards in a casino and know this first hand. So how's that for respect of the wacker

I take it you have a closet that you have to look into and can not walk in and out of. I am fortunate enough to have have 2 walk in closets the size of bedrooms. I walk in and out of them daily. ;)

So this Canadian buy's in for $500 at a $25 minimum bet table and wins $14,000 in one hour. All I got was a smile and off he went back to Ontario Canada. I kinda frowned at the guy a little, and he tells me I can't tip because things are much more expecsive in Canada. WOW what an excuse. So I guess the new word for CANADIAN STIFF is WACKER. Fastest guy out there in a non-capsule boat is Mike Dixon. He was on that video too. 151.5 on GPS. He has said the motor makes around 335hp, then another 150 on squeeze. When he went 151, it was on a 100 shot...didn't hit the 2nd stage as the boat wouldn't settle enough. These guys running those boats 30+mph past their design limits are nuts IMO. I have always said 120 in my boat will be as fast as I want to take it.

I'm glad this was posted. I was trying to find this video the other day to show to a friend of mine... bad ass. :D
As far as going out and ripping the lake up for a day and just the thrill of driving, I'll take my outboard. If we're just out for a cruise with a few people, we take the stern drive. We keep a couple jets around too but I never drive them... I just use em for loaners, no fun getting passed up by the bass boats all day long...
Bottom line, when you can bolt on 260 HP and run over 100 mph, ain't no jet or stern drive gonna touch that...;)

Yeah, I see these pissing matches all the time, especially with the jet boaters. Bottom line, as long as you're at the lake having fun, whether it's a 69 Del Magic or an 07 Magic, that's all that really matters. Every single type drive has their pros and cons and I am fortunate enough to have a few to meet most of those needs (I sell a few bass boats but hate to fish)... since I am in the boat business... As far as power to weight ratio, you can't touch an outboard... that was really my only point in the previous statement... but I love my stern drive too!;)

I will say I've only owned jet boats but back in early-mid 90's my Dad's neighbor bought a brand new 21' daytona with an outboard. Before he even had it on the water he sunk a ton of $$$ into the motor to get every bit of possible power he could out of it. We went out with him for the maiden voyage and that thing sounded wicked. The jet boats/ v-drives at the launch stopped what they were doing to check it out. We were doing effortless 100mph runs for the better part of the afternoon. He kept it for another couple years and then sold it, but the big attraction to the boat was its dependability. He had very few issues as I remember and the higher the rpm's the better it felt. When we would put it on the trailer there were always people that would ask a million questions. I would'nt hesitate to own one like it in the future.
