Decided to stop beating a dead horse (a 21' jet boat conversion) and put my running gear into a REAL V-Drive. Anyone know of a 21' with blown (not supercharged)or no motor
for sale?

Yes, Jump on the one that is in the Trader right now. It won't last long. 20' Spectra that looks real nice, 7,500 less engine.

Also can you call my wife and tell her that I'm starting a new project. :-)

Brad P, Here you go.....
1975 SPECTRA , 21ft Bimini top, less mtr, 2 spd trans, tandem trlr, extra clean, ready for summer, $4500 obo, 909-629-2059, 909-833-5342 http://images.traderonline.com/EMedia/tarchive2/213/163905/00213128809.jpg
Now for a little strategy. Tell the game player you will split the difference of his $4500 and $7500 price tag. 6 grand and not a penny more!!! The boat is in Scumona, I mean Pomona.

The # for the $7,500 price tag is in 310, I called the 909 # and he said he sold it last week. Could it be the original seller realized his error and changed the price with new phone # or did it change hands? Does it matter? Am I babbeling? At least the wife is down with the idea.
Sorry no new flattie, sold the flat for more family oriented blower motor platform. :-)

OK Brad P, maybe a new guy. Nevertheless, he paid $4500 or less and is trying to hose you for the $3000 or more for holding the boat a week. It's called capitalism, and that's what makes this country great, but I think $1500 profit for a weeks storage and hour tow is fair to the new owner.

No whine about the price. Like I said I was just babbeling on.

So Brad, did you go get it yet?
I don't blame the guy for what he's doing. The other guy was giving it away and this dude took advantage of that. To bad you weren't a week earlier. I still think it's a sweet deal.

I found a 21' Howard (74) v-drive. It was ready to run (needed battery)and immediately turned it into a project boat. Am completely restoring it to better than new. Sometimes I wish I would have just run it. Have no estimation on when it will be done.
The changes have been just too radical. I really enjoy going thru the process. It is just so bitchin to see a "new" old boat.
My last Howard just had glass damage and paid 2900. I fixed the glass and repainted for and put in stock 454 and sold for 13000.
It was worth it - but still miss that boat--neighbor bought it.
I have and an interior and other parts which may help you out when you find the hull.
Let me know if I can help.

Thanks Eticket!
You're close by too, I'm in the Valley.
I bought a converted jet, 21' Sleekcraft a couple of years ago and built a blower motor for it. I got the running gear dialed in and now I'm looking at glass repair, interior and paint or gelcoat. I decided to not put more money in conversion mostly due to no cav plate, trim tabs instead. I think it would be a great hull for less horses so I will put a mild BBC in it and sell it. In the mean time it looks like I should be able to pick up an older 21' that is in good shape that I can pop my motor into. I think I'll call Schiada right now, although Schiada rhymes with CHA CHING! Or get the guy with the Spectra to return my call this weekend.

How bad is the glass work? I've done some if you need some help.

Not too bad, two stress cracks at the deck, one hole in the deck about 4" square, the dash has a couple of extra holes in it and you can see the outline in the transom where the jet used to be.

Sound like there isn't too much glass work to be done. Who's hull is it? Were the jet holes filled well and solid? I am asking because I once wanted to convert a jet to a v-drive and didn't. Was sorry I didn't. It would have turned out being a really nice boat. Now I am replacing everything in what was already a v-drive. The only thing I don't have to do is fill the jet holes.

The jet holes are filled fine but you can se the otline of the one on the transom, it's painterd dark blue which doesn't help.
