I'm hoping to step up to a bigger boat, so I thought I would test the waters here first on selling my baby. This boat will run 68 at 5250 rpm with me and 40 plus gals of gas. This is not a light boat. 3500lbs advertised, plus 4 total batteries and lots of stereo stuff.
I've upgraded a lot since purchasing this boat. It has a new ZZ502 with a BG 850 DP, Air Gap, MSD dist, Mallory 140 fuel pump, Crower roller rockers, Lightning water jacketed headers, and all stainless steel braided hoses. The pump is Dominator by American Turbine 12S-Pro with an A imp. It has the inducer, shoe, ride plate, droop and Hyd Place Diverter.
Stereo is Alpine deck with 2 JL 300/4 for mids/highs and 1 Fosgate P5002 pushing (1) 12 Fosgate sub. The speakers are all Memphis Audio marine. (2) 8", (2) 6.5", (4) 6X9. Runs entire weekend on three batts with one to spare for starting.
Starting price is 37,900. That is less than the price of a new one without the stereo and upgraded engine.

Any feed back on the price??? Am I dreaming, or is this a fair price.
I will place an ad in the Trader and could use some advise on where to start. I know the market is a little soft.
Thanks,
J

I dunno... I think you're right in there as far as price goes considering you've done some nice work to the engine.. All depends on how bad you want to sell it... I remember a very nice blue one just like yours (minus some of the engine mods) selling in the upper 20's with very low hours.. But you have to start somewhere... Good luck with the sale....

Looks like she'll being staying in my family for another year.
It seams like a tough time to sell toys unless you want to give them away.

Just wondering what hp does that motor produce and what is a bd 850 gp. I have a similar style boat with a 502 jet drive and similar components but only get 62 on speedo not gps which is unknown and spin 5,000 rpm. with 500 hp.

This is a ZZ502 which is advertised to produce 502 hp at 5200 rpm. Peak rpm is 5400.
A BG 850 is the type of carb. (Barry Grant-Speed Demon)
If you are running an A impellor, 5000 rpm is closer to 400-450 hp. 62 isn't bad for a 21 ft jet. You'll never know the true speed until you gps it.

Forgive my ignorance, but does the jet prevent mounting a full-width swim step?
Oh yeah - BUMP for a beautiful boat!

No, infact the boat normally comes with a full swimstep. I chose to go with separate steps as personal preference.
Thanks for the bump, but I think she is staying with us another year.
Oh well, more fun at the river on my pride and joy.

J-bone I checked the motor it is a 502 chevy marine power 500x. There is a tag on the valve cover that says j500x, and according to the manual it has 500 hp and should spin 5,200 rpm at wot. The boat is a 21 ft xs Lightning 2006. Any ideas as to why it only spins 5,000 rpm. Any info would be great. Again basically the same pump setup as you and the lightning headers. One other question for you does your boat pull to the left of the right if you let go of the steering wheel. Mine pulls to the right significantly. In case your windering why the questions having some problems with Lightning fixing some issues these are just a couple of them. Thanks for your replies.
