I will be doing a service on my buddies lower unit this weekend (That sounds really bad) I will leave it because it sounds funny.
I will be changing out his waterpump and gear oil.
Now to add to the funny. What should I charge him? I know shops get 75 an hour and it is 2.5hrs labor.
I am also driving 200 miles to do this.

I don't charge Buddies anything except the parts and his company. But this is AZ and you are CA. See the difference??:D

I have no opinion on what you should charge but I have an opinion on charging 2.5 hours labor for the job. Since I can comfortably do these two jobs in an hour without rushing, my suggestion to the shops charging 2.5 is they should close their doors unless they can get a competent mechanic.

Some pizza and beer sounds about right.

Yeah, he was supposed to come out and help but can't make it. I figured friendship was good enough, plus he is letting me use his dock.
This was supposed to be a bit humorous but, oh well.

When you service his lower unit, it is proper to reach around and crank check the johnson rod as well. If both are well lubed all should be even.:D ;)

Something cold to drink and thats about it. But then if he were a buddie you wouldn't have to ask.
