Need to know whats a good idle speed for the pump when the boat is sitting in the water? Im adjusting the carbs on the engine stand. I Dont want to get it in the water and it fly away!

About 900 to 1000 rpm. If you adjust it to idle about 1200-1300 on the stand, it will slow down some when the pump is turning and loaded. My lake boat idles about 1250 rpm, and it's actually easier to control there than at a lower rpm

on my tahiti i set it by gps to idle at 5 mph. worked great never had to worry about going to fast or having to speed up and slow down in the slow zones.

I don't like to see idle speeds much below 1000, especially if you have any kind of performance cam and valve train. The higher the idle, the easier it is on valve train parts.

i used to idle at 1k and if it was too fast just keep using the forward and reverse handle on it to adjust speed if too fast.......

yep, thats what I do also. I've read because of the load, you should idle around 1100-1200.

No less than a grand. I actually have a small screwdriver that I keep on my intake as my idle creeps
