I have thought about moving from the Cali side of Lake Havasu to the Arizona side. There are obvious benefits on the AZ side such as access to services, restaurants, stores, nice houses and cheaper gas. My main concern on the AZ side is launch access and how long it takes to launch on an average weekend. I have a place in Cali in Havasu Mobile Estates (near the Casino). I can usually launch my boat on a weekend and wait maybe 5 to 15 minutes (Holiday weekends maybe up to a half hour). Plus, I usually leave my boat in the courtesy slips at night without an issue. What do you guys think on the AZ side, am I misinformed, how long does it take to launch on the AZ side. Any other draw backs?

I usually do not have long waits on da ramps... slip access is difficult to maintain...

Coming from Havasu Landing to the AZ side my self this past year was the best move I could have made. ( I plan on moving to AZ full time this year anyway.) But the only down side in Windsor and it has not been that bad. I really don't care to launch on holiday weekends but I will go to the water and meet some friends anyway. Back to windsor on a normal weekend if you launch around 8:00 in the morning you will be fine. I have never had more than a 15 minute wait all year and I have been out almost every weekend. Going back to you place and cleaning up after a day on the water and then being able to go out where ever you want for dinner is great. The Sail inn gets old after a while of being 1 of 2 choices. Just my .02 worth. Heck I just finally got Driverno8 to move over here.

Thanks for the input. I'm really appriciate it. The whole story is We are thinking of selling our place in San Diego and the Cali side of Havi and moving to the Arizona side full time. I can make a bundle off both properties and cut my living expenses in half. Plus, I'm out in Havi two weekends out of just about every month. I love off roading in the winter time. Keep the input coming....Probably a bad day to start this thread, everyone is heading to the lake. Hell i'm outta here in a few hours and going to the lake:D

i have had a house in havi for over 18 years.. average weekends are not bad getting in the water if you leave early 7-8am but can be a real wait picking up. i only go out on weekends while the kids are in school and when they are out its weekdays only for us. you couldn't pay me to go out and deal with the mess and crazies on a holiday weekend. the town has changed over the last 20-30 years some say for the better while others of course say for the worse.. to me its just different and i would move there full time if i could. we are currently keeping an eye on the housing market in havi and may pick up a newer larger house in the coming year.. but time will tell. i wish you well on your decision and hope it all works out for you.

People can piss n moan about "California" and "the indians" and all the other BS, but I have been going down to the Landing since the 70's and you cannot replicate the feeling of being on vacation. Sure they have McDonalds and all the other conveniences, but the nice part of the Landing is two ramps.. I like pullimng the boat when ever I want.. I also like to Fish, Hunt and Ride Motorcycles.. I can do all that from my back door.
You cant do all that from the islander or any other place in Havasu.
So I guess Im saying that hopefully nobody will listen to my point of view and stay in AZ:)

No right or wrong answer to this, Just opinions. I'm actually thinking of moving full time to Lake Havasu, Az. Renting my house out in San Diego and selling my place at the Landing. I'd probably rent a place in Havasu and if I like it, then buy one.
