I am going to take a guess and say around 10-15.

Thats all? I figured there would be more of those built then that.

Not too many. I think the # is closer to 15, but not much more than that if at all. It is a very nice boat with tons of freeboard and room.

Are the boats numbered in the serial numbers somehow?

The HIN is coded with a model code, year and what # boat it was for that year (includes all models). Meaning it could have been the fourth boat built that year, but the first or only 28 for that same year.

Really, thats it? I wonder why. I think it's a great looking boat. I've never ridden in one. Do they ride, handle, and perform nice? I definitely wouldn't mind (if/when I could afford one) owning one. Lot's of room and I like how much freeboard it has.

Wow i'm a little shocked myself, figured it would be between one to two hundred.

Nope. I would say in between 10-15. Closer to 10. That boat is a great riding boat.

I have always like that boat. It seems like it is a very BIG 28. Much bigger in stature than other manufacturers.

They are big, but seeing them on the trailer isa bit deceiving.

Definitely. I will never own another V-bottom unless I strictly was to start boating in the ocean. I do not see that happening anytime soon if ever.

Didn't Ultra build 3 just for Rock the Boat? Considering that the 28 came out in 2001, I would have guessed 25 to 30, but Mike no doubt has more incite in this area than I.

I forgot about those. I would say those included would put the # closer to 15 or a couple over. I do not think they have built 20.

I just checked. We have built 22 28 Stealths. The yellow 28 that you own was the very first. I built it for myself and had it for a few months before selling it to a dealer back east.

what kind of power did the boat have back then? I see there is a turbo gauge on it. It only has a 496 now. I purchased that way. The person from the east coast took the engine out and sold it to a guy down at LOTO and he put a brand new motor and drive on it. It has a few nick in the blue gel coat part of it, how hard are those to touch up? It has kind of the textured look to it in the graphic.

Holy crap Batman!!!! That actually provides quite a bit of insight into the cost of the larger boats. You hear the comments on it only being 4 more feet of fiberglass for all that money. I would think that would hold true if there were more boat sold but if only 22 have been sold since 2001 then that is only 3.5 boats per year whereas I would think that you probably sell at least that many 24 Stealths in just one year. It's simple economics. Even if the cost of R&D and tooling the 28 is the same as the 24 with a lower production amount you have a much higher cost of goods sold.
Just for comparison purposes can someone tell us how many 24 Stealth are built per year or have been built to date?
