Umm... why not attempt to patch the hole before pulling it off the rocks. Or perhaps attaching flotation devices around the boat???

I hope this wasn't the only damage because that shit could have been patched in about 30 minutes with a sheet of matt and a couple of gallons of resin while it was sitting on the rocks. Even if the patch wasn't perfect, it wouldn't be tough to get it sealed enough that the pumps could handle any seepage.
If that thing sunk because of that hole, those morons deserve whatever they get.

Rocks vs yacht......Rocks win every time!
I would imagine that with the weight of that boat, that the de-lamination would be pretty extensive, and may very well have warranted totaling that boat.....

The timing of high tide may have prevented application.

My Uncle had a Captain when he was lower in crew rank that did this with a BC Ferry... That Cap also took out several docks in his career, crews nicknamed him Captain Crunch...............

JBB , you should have warned these two [ apparently there were some hot moments that destracted the man and woman on the bridge ;) ] the day before they were put in charge of duty navigating this ferry >

Also , after millions spent upgrading , failure of installing some safetypin :) on the rudder system , caused this fiasco >

BC Ferries president David Hahn wouldn't speculate on what caused the accident.
"I think something went catastrophically wrong," he said. "We'll have to dig through all the evidence. We don't want to draw any quick conclusions."
Ummm... the ship hit a big freaking rock???

Hey Uncle is a relief Capt. and first officer on the BC Ferries..... I can say the plowing into the marina was a result of a bad pin. The other have no comment!!!!! Let's just say they dont train very well with older school navigation..........
Took the guy and his wife who managed my orchard to Victoria. Pics from the Bridge on the Spirit of Vancouver Island. SOV just got sat nav with course and speeds stored on the computer, much more cool although boring compared to the older old school Ferries with no sat nav pre-sets!!!!! ;)

Zudnic , you must have heard of the Queen of Cowichan running over a pleasure boat ,owned by a chineese guy who went for a nap letting his kid on the lookout  . Sadly , the kid died and the stupid mofo survived. The pleasure boat drifted into the shipping lane . The ferry blasted several times and they realized the boat won't alter its course ,and were too late to swing the ferry around. The crews of the ferry nicknamed the Q-O-C to "China Clipper" [ a bit of bad taste  ] .The family sued the ferry corp , and won against the corporation , albeit the father was clearly negligent.

That ship just had a $ 20 M update , recently . Had all the proper navigation equipment on board. Apparently the crew turned some of the instruments lights off regularily on the night runs before , complaning about them being too bright . Either these two were too dumb about how to use the dimmer function , or they needed a very low ambiance for whatever they were doing at the time of crash:idea:
