For some unknown reason the water levels from Big River south on the river have been dropped lower than I have ever seen during the day. It started yesterday and did not start back up until about 4:00 pm. It has started again today. I understand that the end of the ramp at Big River is 20ft from the water. I've seen them drop it before to look for a body but have no idea why now. If heading out this way, might be good idea to call ahead before using all that expensive gas just to sit on the beach. If I get any more info, I will post!

Not sure why is low. The site that shows water release from the dams shows the water should be UP this weekend.

All of us in Parker will be sure to pee as much as possible to help with your water level. ;)

Was this the first time you've been here on a Thursday?
Water levels are always lower on Thursdays, and to some extent Fridays, due to irrigation system maintenance by the Palo Verde Irrigation District.
No worries. It's perfectly normal.

It will sometimes drop during the week but I'm sure it will be up for the weekend. Really only the wakeboard boats care......so keep it low.

I am aware of low water Thursdays and you're right that it is normal. This is something else. We've had to shut down all our irrigation pumps for 2 days(very rare)! Wondered if someone jumped off Aggnis Willson Bridge again and they are looking for a body, OVER!

I'm sure with the amounts of alcohol that's going to be consumed this weekend the levels should rise just fine!!!

just got off the phone with someone at Lost Lake. Says he's never seen the water as low as it is right now. Even in the normally low winter months. His kids were able to walk across from ca to az side this morning. Said it was crazy low yesterday also, but came up late in the day. Gonna be fun watching the idiots from the safety of shore this weekend.

FINAL UPDATE. Water coming up as of 3:00pm. Called and talked to many today. Only rumor I heard was that they were holding back water at Havasu to flood the Sand Bar to cut down on the crowd there. Who Knows? All have fun this weekend and be safe!

Anything under 12000 from Parker dam you need a jet for most of the lower river.

Water was lower than I had seen in 10 years on Thursday, sure glad it came up to normal on the weekend. Turned out to be a good weekend in Blythe.

Is normally low on Thursdays and Fridays. Heard a few people comment that it was the highest over the weekend than they had seen in 10 years.

just got back from 6th St. in Blythe and I felt the water was a little lower than normal for a weekend. The sandbars were starting to really pop up by noon in some areas

The water was SUPER low on Sat down by lost lake and hidden valley, I saw numerous people run up on rock bars. It came up later that day, Sunday was much better.
