I'm trying to get some direction with a tricky subject. I loaned some money to someone (bad idea, I know). He brought me a 1983 Marlin and a 1999 trailer, along with unsigned titles to both, to hold as collateral until he paid me back. Its been a year now, he's no longer returning phone calls, so its time for me to take some action. I'm working on the legal aspects from another direction, but I have no idea what this boat is worth. Oh, did I mention that the seats are out of it and so is the engine? Help!
Thanks,
Carolyn

I just bought a 1978 Marlin, so checked around to come up with a fair offer, compared to others found advertised. Two more besides mine, all had recent rebuilds, clean, avg. cond. turn key, running boats, etc. $3,500 to $5,500. seems to be the asking. Without seats and engine, bare hull, I would'nt pay more then $1K......

How much do they owe you? Not trying to be nosey just wondering if you are upside down on this deal.
If you could post some pictures it would help us to give you a value.

Not realy. Is it a tandem axle trailer? If in good shape it will fetch about 1500 thats about 1/2 of a new one. The hull should get you 500-700 bills if in fair shape. What size boat is it. And how hard will it be to get it into your name.
