Just got back from the 2007 Nitro Nationals in Red Bluff, CA. Had a great time and got to meet a lot of cool people. Here's a couple clips and pics from the weekend.

NO He didnt back it up and he ended up crashing very bad second round after the wild first round run in the vid. They said he was very sore and bruised but no broken bones.

Report I was given was Problem Child & Fair Warning both crashed - air lifted but will be o.k.
John Swanson / Urban Menace TAH was running consistent 5.30's @ 225 MPH and won TAH.............once again :D :D :D

You talking about Scarlatta in the K-5 boat? He was the only K boat there so he ran with the SS boats and got some seat time.

I just got word that Dale(driver of Problem Child) drown but they brought him back.He's in the hospital in Redding.They are talking about flying him back down here to do the surgery.He has a broken back and some stiches in his arm.I wish him and the other driver a speedy recovery,Mark

That 263 mph pass melted the headers and messed up the tips of the props.It must have went real lean to run those numbers.

Thanks for the update. The announcer at the race said he just got out of the x-rays and they found no broken bones?? Liar?? :confused: I wish the best to both drivers to get well soon.
The boat was probably launced 20-30 feet in the air tossed and turned and came down shredding into peices, throwing the motor and capsule out like nothing.

Mark, thanks for the information and the pics. Dale is my brother, and he will be having 5 hours of back surgery tomorrow. Then possibly 4 days of recovery before he can come back home. It seemed by his injuries that it was a major crash, but the hull looks to be in decent shape in your pics. Can you tell me about the run. Thanks. Daniel

Those are great shots, thanks for the pics. We had just left your pits and were walking over when I saw him flying in the air. The guy next to me got the whole thing on video :mad: Pretty unbelievable crash. :sqeyes:

When Problem Child left the gate he jumped out of the
water and rode the props high to about 1/4 track, he then
lifted and settled down. After he got back on it, it looked like
just after 1/2 track he started shaking and from there it went bad.
I was at the start line. Both boats had problems right from the start.
I hope all a speedy recovery. What an Awesome event.......

"Additional Update for Bad Boy Power Drink driver Dale Ishimaru:
We recieved an additional update on Dale. After 7 1/2 hours of surgery, Dale is doing quite well considering the circumstances. The doctors said that if they had to rate the surgery on a scale of 1 - 10, it was a 10 1/2, so that was great news for us drag boat fans. Bone fragments were removed from Dale's lower back, pins, screws and some sort of wire or wire mesh was used to fix his back. Apparently he even sat up in bed today, so that is a good sign. More as we hear."
