Remember, and honor, each and everyone of those that have served, and those that are serving now. Especially Honor those that gave their lives so we could enjoy the freedoms that we hold so dear. I sincerly hope that this is the last Memorial Day we ever get to Honor those serving in a war zone, anywhere in the world.........I hold a special place in my heart for those who served and those that died in the Vietnam era. It took this country far too long to recconize the Honor and Valor of the brave men and women that answered the call from their country during an un popular war. RIP my fallen comrades.........Ray

Goneboatin originally posted the link a few days ago. I just thought it appropriate for today (and every day for that matter) to take a moment out of our lives to reflect and say thanks to the hundreds of thousands who have died and those who continue to serve and defend our great country and freedoms around the world.
And to not forget the hundreds of thousands more disabled for life, who's lives were very much comprimised for the same causes and live among us today, many in hospitals and many alone due to those injuries.
At the end of the Viet Nam war I was upset the way our soldiers were viewed and treated when they returned (minus the 65000 or so that didn't return). I was a young guy doin what young guys do best tho and didn't dwell on it that much. Looking back now it was one of the darkest periods imo this country has seen. I pray that the vets of the present unpopular war will never have to endure what the vets of Viet Nam had to.

I think that most people don't think about what this day is about. None of my students knew what it was about (they do now :D ). Thanks Mike, for reminding us.

That video was awesome. I just watched it with my wife and children, and we had a long conversation about the sacrifices our enlisted brothers and sisters make, so that we can live in freedom, abudance and prosperity.
