anyone recommend a certain type of outdrive oil maybe one that makes shifting into gear easier or smoother?

Quicksilver, but I think thats made my Mercruiser as well................

We use Merc High Perf gear lube in all the drives we build and have never had a problem under any circumstances. There will be many people telling you to use........ however if the shifting is hard it isn't the gear lube. You have other issues. (assuming you are talking about a Bravo??)

cant remember if its a bravo or alpha. ill take a look at it tonight. it doesnt do it all the time just when it does it man it shifts hard.

say it is a bravo what would be the cause?
