These F-ing people are really starting to piss me off. They ride with complete disrespect of everyone else on the water.I had one guy decide he was going to jump off the back without looking to see that I was behind him, thank god at a resonable distance, still had to swerve pretty good to miss him.Another decided he wanted to go in front of me and start doing circles without even looking behind him before he started to turn, another swerve and a miss. The last guy decided he wanted to run full speed 5' off my bow while I had someone in tow.F-ers deserve to get hit....

Should be mandatory to have a license for them.

How do we get that done? Someone on HB should start this rolling.

Having taught basic boating for the power squadron, and proctored several classes. I don't think the license stops there. I've said for a long time. Just like a pilot who has different types of performance levels, we need the same thing here.
Just because we can afford those big machines, does not mean you can handle it.

How about making the stay a certain distance from shore . I have also had to make fast turns to avoid them . You actually start talking to yourself hoping they will look UP but they never do !!!!

I had one pass so close this past weekend that his spray wet down my boat and passengers, all in a "no wake" zone. Stupidity on the lake knows no bounds.

I carry 3 lb. "rock cod" lead weights when Im' in the boat. The round one's seem to throw much better. They go right through a hull at the water line....

This has been talked about so much and NOTHING will be done. First off, you are assuming the rider has a brain, thats a mistake right there!! :D NSF

Had one this weekend come so close to hitting my bow (I was on plane doin 35+ mph and speeding up) that when he saw me and swerved, he drenched me with water. I was at the helm of a 30' all white boat with a 502 at full gun, and he didn't see me. What a dumb MFer! I followed him back to his cove and let him know that my boat weighed 3 tons and he did not want to be on the other end of a collision in a 600lb SeaDoo. The kid (about 17) was total nonplussed.
I see very small kids on thiese things every weekend.
1. A paintball gun with a 100' range and a video camera (for the no wake violators)
2. more tickets for parents who let children under 14 operate those things
3. Law requiring them to stay within 100' of shore at all times (so they can implale one another)
4. $4k tax on the purchase price that goes into an education fund (or state beer keg party for non owners).

I see a lot of these idiots too, but I think a tax on them or licensing for them will just end up hitting all boaters sooner or later. This just gets the foot in the door to do it to us.
Personally, I'm in favor of more aggressive law enforcement of the boating laws that are already on the books...no need for new ones.
BoatCop, what can we, as responsible boat owners/drivers, do to report incidents like this? Would anything happen to these owners/operators if we took down their reg numbers and reported it?

Their hull IDs are so small as to be invisible. I still dont know the ID of the idiot that almost ran himself into me. A better means of idnetificatiion would be needed.

There have been a couple of times when I was pulling Jeff on the ski that they have been about 20-25 feet behind him. Our boat doesn't really throw a wake, so I don't know WTF they were doing back there. I was praying Jeff didn't decide to let go. He didn't even know the idiot was behind him.
I'd be happy to go get my license if it meant these idiots would also have to. I think it would dampen the rental industry. Not that I want to see anyone's business suffer, but their business is a hazard to other people on the water.
