And what can I do to this pump to get some mild performance? And where to get the parts?

12 WJ. You got lucky!
If the impeller has never been detailed I would start there. Stock Jacuzzi impellers are terrible. Then I would have the stock bowl nozzle cut off and have a berk bolt pattern welded on. Of course a shoe & ride plate would be nice too. The stock intake has a nasty blunt edge on it(atleast mine did & it appeared stock...) Add a diverter & droop, get the bowl flowed and maybe add a custom loader and you have a nice pump.
The 12WJ is a mixed flow pump. Dont let anybody tell you differently. I may have a detailed B impeller coming up pretty quick...I found a stainless that I need to have worked.

Why?
It could have been a YJ. The WJ is a good pump.

Brian did you make that shaft? Is it stronger than stock? I may be needing one...How much?

Yes sir,
It is a 17-4PH shaft, much stronger than the stock shaft.
How much?

Are you answering my question with a question?
I've got 800 hp. I think my stock shaft will be the weak link in my setup...

I don't think your stock shaft, unless it is 17-4, will be reliable with 800HP.
Are you asking me for a price for a Jacuzzi shaft or a Berk shaft? I don't know exactly what your setup is, or what style you are looking for. It would not be prudent for me to quote a custom job when I don't know exactly what you want.
That particular shaft is in my Jacuzzi, gun drilled and set up for a Berk impeller. I made it because I twisted the stock Jacuzzi shaft in the spline area the first time out with the Mopar. I wanted an A impeller instead of the B, Jack said I would have a hard time finding one. The Legend/Berk parts are common and available. The choice for me was easy, but it was necessary to make a custom shaft.
Shoot a call anytime and let me know what you are looking for,

I need a Jacuzzi shaft, Jacuzzi impeller. Perhaps they are available already, haven't looked. Does gun drilling it make it stronger? Seems like it would weaken it.

I don't think they are available.
Gundrilling...
The answer is complicated....it makes the shaft slightly weaker, yes.
The real advantages are the weight savings and removing the material in the center of the shaft makes it durable and less prone to cracking.
Cracks from the center out cause shearing, which is the most common cause of shaft failure.

OK got another question. I ended up picking up that red boat and the previous owner said that the pump was just rebuilt.
Brought it home today and was taking a look at the pump tag
it say WJ9782747BLAHBLAH/B/7896BLAH BLAH
Does the B mean it could have a B impellar? Or is that just another random number, thanks
Tony

It DOES mean it started out with a B. Doesn't necessarily mean it still has one.

Yah but this wasn't ever used as a racy boat, just as a river cruiser. Teh guy I bought it from doesn't really know about pumps or motor internals and what not, so I assume it might be safe to assume its a B

most likely its a B...they say a jacuzzi b is closer to a berk. a impeller...i had a B in mine and thats what i put back in it

So a Jacuzzi B impellar is about the same as a Berkley A? Damn I was thinking about a little hotter of a cam...

I have heard the same thing. Probably because it is a 5 blade and not as efficient.
Oh well. I have a few spare Jacuzzi "B" impellers since I switched to a Legend "A" anyway.
