can one of you gurus tell me how much crank thrust i should have on my bbc?
my dial is showing .005?
reason is i have a fairly new rebuild on my pump but the thrust bearing is going out on it.?? thanks

.005-.007 is a general recommendation. I like to see that on the high side with most of my stuff as I run torque converters where a little more thrust comes in handy.

I like to see .006 but .005 should be ok!..
