Anyone know why they always have raddishes at Mexican Food Restaurants? I had heard that they are eatten prior to eatting spicy Mexican food to help cut down on heartburn. Any truth to this?
Enquiring minds wanna know.

Anybody know why they don't have spoons in a mexican restaurant? I have always wondered why they don't give you spoons on your table set up.

Don't like mexican soup. A spoon would be a handy way to put salsa on your food instead of pouring it out of the bowl. ;)

Sopa de Albondigas, Mexican meatball soup, great soup.......then ya get a spoon....happy now????:D
As for radishes, not a big fan...but you will find them served raw or slightly grilled, depending on the place..to me, it's a mark that this place is "down home" Mexican....also, ever tried the pickled carrots?? Those are awesome, but the heat varies on them, so watch out....!!!!!!!!

Most of the Mexican food places I have been have the raw raddishes out in a cooler/chiller. I really like them raw and have even been to a few that had cucumber slices.

And then ice cream after a nice spicy mexican meal helps during the final stages of the digestion process. Any flavor will do, so to speak.

Radishes help neutralize the gas orders that are released from the body after mass quantities of beans and rice are consumed:D
