One of my co-worker just got an email from his wife saying that a plane crashed at 14th and Campus in Upland. We are at 16th and Campus and haven't heard anything. Anybody know or heard of this also?

If you didnt hear it, or the sirens, look outside for the smoke. Regular down wind leg turn at 14th/campus....

Its actually just east of Benson close to the runway...on top of a garage at this point. No fire, looks like the pilot is OK.

A little over 20% of fatal general aviation accidents are caused by fuel exhaustion......amazing statistic IMO. No gas=plane going down. Not hard to figure out.

Pretty sure that's a flight school airplane from what I've been hearing... still... one lucky sum bitch... though if you keep gas going to the engines, you don't need to be so lucky...
Since it's training, my guess is they were switching tanks and the tanks they went to didn't have any gas in them...

Google Map shows the owner's address on Van Nuys airport property.....I'd say you're correct about it being a training flight
Bad time to be making fuel management decisions.......

Wonder if this'll make a difference?
Rio
Not really, that's just the last time the name on the registration has been changed. The FAA doesn't track annuals and what not in any central database. All that information is in the logs.
Airplane registrations are diffrent from cars or boats. Once the airplane is registered with the FAA, it only get's changed if the owners sell it, or their address changes or what not.
States on the other had, handle taxes on airplanes different. Here in AZ we pay a yearly tax. I think Cali has a sales tax then a use tax accessed on one day each year... or something goofy like that. In Colorado, we paid a one time sales tax and that was it.

WOW, what do you think this stupid comment means???
Bummer, that no one was hurt or no one lost there house(s) to a fire...I am confused at this possible attempt at comedy!!!

Damn, owned a plane for 20 years and learned sumtin new every day. I thought the robber that does my yearly annual had to send in whatever form when he signed it off.
Rio
Nope... just sign the log books... good to go for another year...
