I might sell mine. 1985 TOI, 18'. Pad-vee bottom (not flatty!!!) casale box, velvet drive, bench seat (seats three) all setup for BBC, no motor. 5 color original gel-coat in decent shape. Calgo steering. Probably the nicest riding 18 footer I have ever driven. Awesome ski boat, but will take some real power to make it run the big numbers. It ran 70 with my 8:1 468 bbc at 5400rpm. On a tandem trailer, trailer could use some love. Price is $3500 to a board member.

I bought it in Phoenix. It was completely unrigged, most parts were in the boat, but not bolted down. No prop, bad rudder, rotten wood, flat trailer tires, etc.... And yes it was cheaper then, but I have at least 200 hours in putting it where it is now. I bought it in the above mentioned condition for $2500.

yeah i'm pretty sure i looked at that one. who is t.o.i. and is it a pretty solid boat? i like the fact that its a v-bottom as well. how rough can it get before you have to beach it and drink beer all day?

You say that like it a bad thing or something. eek! well its not the best thing! to each there own. i would prefer to boat all day as to drink all day but like i said to each there own. lord knows i have done it many a time! i would just prefer to get into a boat that i can use a little more often then an hour at sunrise and an hour at sunset.

Sorry it took so long. TOI is short for Thomas Owned Industries. Builder's name was Doug Thomas. The name of his boats was "Thrillcraft".They were built from his home shop from 1981 to 1989, in Arvada, Colorado. I spoke with Mr. Thomas, he said his 3 molds were all original designs (No splashes) but built with "proven techniques" and he said he never rigged one as a v-drive, but sold a few blank hulls. He offered the 18' in a short and long deck version (Mine is the long deck), and offered a 21' that was similar to the Spectra 20, and was working on a 21' Tunnel, but never popped one. I am not trying to make a sale when I tell you that this 18' footer rides better than several 21's that I have driven. I have had it out in 4 foot swells, and granted your praying the motor doesn't quit, it plows through at slow speed, or skips across the top, your choice! The boat is a fairly light layup, but it's not a potato chip. Is has only two stress cracks in the original gel, and neither is bad enough to bother fixing. My only complaint is that the final layup was with "woven roving" which stinks compared to the glass that's available today, but thousands of builders used it, so, oh well. The only reason I am thinking of parting with it is the room, which I want more of. Any other questions? Just shoot...
