Hey guys I'm doing a valve job on a 429 ford. Can any body give me some guidance on valve angles and seat angles? A three angle job.. Right in the middle of a head job and I mean right in the middle of it.

I would start with a 45 and get a nice cut to approxamtely .010". Lap the valve and look for a .010" seat to .010" lap job. See where you stand. If your happy with it come in behind with a 60 until the 45 and 60 meet. Once that end is finished then you can cut the 30 if the valve is sunk in the pocket until it meets up with the 45. You don't want to sink the valve unless necessary. If the valve is not suck you can kiss the edge with a sanding roll for smooth transition.

I'm at 45 @ .010 head. I'm at 45@ .010 lap job. 60 until 60 and 45 meet. 30 until 30 and 45 meet.
Valve? 45 on the valve until the 30 meets up with the 45. Is there a 60 on the valve?

Valves Int and Exh are the same, you should have a 45 @ .010". Make sure you have a little margin at the top so you don't tullop the valve. You only need to back cut the valve at 30 up to the 45. Just make small cuts at a time and you should be okay.
