After looking for 2 years for the right retro dragboat, I finally found it. 6t5/Todd was nice enough to get them on the web for me, Thanks Bubba.
This thing has an actual transmission, w/Drive, Neutral & Reverse, most have a non-synchro forward/neutral, no reverse.
Check it out, can't wait to get me a 2-blade speed prop, electronic MSD ignition and the scoop for my T-Ram set-up. We'll be cookin' with gas!!

Looks real sweet! restrofreak makes a scoop that is just like the ones that they used back in the day. It would look right at home on your boat for sure.
Tom @ Menkens can hook you up with a prop when your ready.
Lets see if this works.

DARN....you found a really nice classic...was it listed in H.B.Classifieds at the end?? You guys keep finding all these oldies but goodies! Do you want a copy of the song "ShakeDown" by Bobby Fuller Four to play as you polish her up? :p

Hey MJBP,
You got yourself a 'J Hull' Rayson! Thought that's what it might be. A friend of mine here in NC has one, too, that's all original gelcoat etc. w/a 390FE in it, Velvet Drive etc. like yours. Rigged by the NC Rayson dealer Jimmy Gaskins back in '67 or '68. I'll try to post a pic of it.

Thanks guys!!
Yep, it's Mopar powered. Forgot to mention it. Contrary to what most want, that is what I had been specifically looking for, 69 440, w/67 closed chamber heads, lotsa compression and you can tell in the exhaust note. Not the fastest but, to me, very retro cool. And since I have at least 5 440 longblocks and several 383's there's no shortage of spares.
Dave A,
Thanks for the info. Cool, it's a J-hull. Post those pic's when you get a chance.

Yea BT273, I knew his was a MoPar, would he have anything else?? Nice boat.
The one here is 390FE powered, and I'll try to get y'all hooked up w/pics asap.
Get 'er going before the pond freezes! At least you guys got water...we've got mud. 4-year drought, mandatory water restrictions everywhere, boat ramps closing. I almost can't get my I/O off the lift! The beach is growing grass; I don't want THAT much more lawn to mow, either.

Dude, bring that Rayson out to Wampler's Lake for the Michigan Hot Boat Association end of summer fuel fest. Sept. 21-22, W.J. Hayes State park, off M-12 near Brooklyn (Irish Hills).

DJ,
I would really like to do that. But, I'm getting my jet ironed out to sell first and plan on bringing it there for a "shakedown" run.
It would be nice to take the "Raisin" Craft (that's what the previous owner called it, LOL!) out before the season ends.
