I am looking for a new short block for this boat I just picked up. It had a .020 over 454 in it but it needs to be rebuilt due to some spun bearings. But anyways I just don't have the room right now to rebuild an engine and keep it all clean that's why I just want a short block to slam in there.
So I found a produciton 496BBC shortblock for $500. But the guy told me on the 496 the exhaust, intake, and heads are different. Is this true? I can't use my oval port heads and headers on a 496? Any info would help thanks. Tony
