I can only imagine where this thread is going to go....so I'll start and where ever this thing ends up, thats where it ends up.
I'm folding my laundry and was getting to my T-shirts and have a old Oingo Boingo shirt from 1991. Is that to old to keep a T-shirt. I guess I like the holes and the "oldness of it all".

I just went through my closet and dresser drawers, cleaning out old stuff. One of the things that went to the rag-bag in the garage was a "Pizza Hut" shirt from Suva, Fiji.
I bought it there in 1977. :jawdrop:

I never wear a T-shirt more than once. That is why I can't afford a DCB.

I have an Oingo Boingo shirt too... from the "Dead Man's Party" tour in '86.
I have a Van Halen shirt from the same year, and a Rush shirt from '87.
I keep the concert tees, but nothing else really goes the distance.

Old Tshirts are a gold mine sometimes on Ebay. I sold a Molly Hatchet shirt from the 80's to some guy in Europe for $43.00. But of course ragged ones become work shirts then rags, usually 8-10 year life span.

Sophomore year in HS a bunch of us created a cheering section for our Varsity Basketball team. We had t-shirts made up with the school mascot and called ourselves the Bleacher Bums. That was in 1973/74 and the shirt still resides in my drawer......no way can I fit into it.
I also have a darn near brand new pair of Levi's bellbottom cords in yellow from the same year, I only wore them once :D

I keep a tee shirt about as long as Ratso keeps a wife. Stain them as soon as I put them on, again, the same as Ratso and his women. Oh well.......:D

Some of my most comfortable tee's have holes in them...I don't leave the house in them but I can't imagine throwing an Oingo Bongo shirt away...those were good times!

Old T-Shirts can be a real gold mine. I sent 16 to my mom and she made me a quilt out of them. Thank you mom. Put the fronts on the front and the backs on the back, go figure. They include my first 10K run, 1/2 marathon, and my only LA Marathon T-Shirt. Those were the days.

Too funny!!!! I JUST got rid of my "Glamis Thanksgiving 1991" shirt!!!
I still wear my Rods and Relics LHC shirts from about 10 years ago.....some are "garage and yard" shirts and some are in better shape.

My shirts never last long. I always end up changing my oil or something messy and forget to change my shirt. I usaully give 1 bag of clothes away in a month to Goodwill. :D

Thrash them once they get stained.

Great thread... I was wondering if I was just hanging on to some of my old shirts because I'm cheap.. Well I am.. But, I feel alot better about it now.. I think my oldest shirt is from the early 80's. They become like old friends.. just hard to toss knowing that I could at least wear them when doing the dirty jobs around the compound. :)

I actually attempted to throw away a ton of old t-shirts about 2 years ago. I put them in a glad bag and stuck them in the garage.
Well, I was getting down a bunch of boxes with baby clothes for our new addition and I found this box with a glad bag full of clothing. I open it up and see all my old t-shirts...it was like christmas...only better, like re-uniting with long lost friends. My wife had decided to store them because she knew I didn't want to throw them away but I hate being a pack rat. She saw that I found them and the big grin on my face....priceless!
