A beautiful day for the Tube Float. Light wind. High 90's. This year's theme was "Back to the '70s". Several floats really hit the nail on the head.
This was on the beach before the start.

The Star Wars Float will probably win best of theme. Darth Vador and an Imperial Walker.

Although Jaws might give him a run for the money.

We even had "Spike" the Superbowl mascot along for the ride.

We actually got to put the new "Toon" to good use.

A good time was had by all! :D
SBCSO had Court TV along filming for the "Party Police" series. Look for it later in the year.

Alan,
Props to your guys for keeping it safe out there. It''s quite the event & I'm sure a challange to keep people out of harms way when there's 30' boats cruising by. We took some of the people back to their places when they were done, next year we're definately going to float.

I had no idea about all the people in Parker. More less a tube float.!!
All I ever hear is ShockwaveBob talking about how nobody goes to Parker and Parker is closed... Not even open on the weekends.. :hammer2: :hammer2:

Hey Alan, whats up with the video taping from the police boat? Dont think i remember seeing you guys do that before.
That was San Bernardino Sheriff. They've had Court TV riding with them since Spring Break getting footage for "Party Police" series.
The Spring Break footage is going to be on tomorrow (Monday, June 11th) 8 PM EST. 5:00 PM & 9:00 PM Direct TV channel 246. Don't know what channel it is on other systems.

Andrea and I did the float this year instead of going to the dam run. Must say, I wont do the float again. I thought it was going to be great. However, its just a pain in the a$$, i would be more relaxed in copper canyon on memorial weekend with a rental pontoon tied up to me.
I never actually got on the tube to relax, spent the whole time in the water trying to get the tubes away from shore, and the retards on boats would come by 30 feet away, doing 15mph so that we had some HUGE wages to send us right back into shore!!! Deffinately some more planning needed by parkers chamber of commerce. I almost got backed into by some moron in a Ebbtide that was trying to get to his buddies  , that would not have been pretty. Our dog was the only one that had fun, he loved trying to jump from our tube to someone elses tube. We finally paddled to some private docks in this gated community and I walked back to Patria to get the truck.
Sorry, but I dont think this is for me....

I will definately be doing the float again next year!! By no means would I ever try to float competatively, it's just about going out and having a good time! Winning the tube float is like winning the 50 yard dash at the special olympics. :D Might put an electric trolling motor on the rig next year to get out of those slack currents. Maybe a bunch of us HBers should build a float for next year????
Alan, thank you to you and your boys(and girls) for making it a safe time for all involved.
