I'm looking to take the family to Palm Springs for the first time. 2 little girls ages 5 and 6. They love the water, so the pool and water acivities are the top priority.
With that in mind, which hotel/resort has the best pool. Swim up bar and a water slide would be nice.
Also, I want to golf on 2 different courses. I don't want to spent a ton of money on the rounds, but want to play nice courses. I know it will be hot...I'll try to get off early.
Any help would be appreciated.
We plan on being there July 3,4,5,6,7.
Thanks,
J

The Stadium course takes the fun out of golf for me.
Mission Hills Westin has a few nice courses.

The JW Marriot Resort & Spa, in Palm Desert, is a really nice hotel. They have 5 different pools, and a super nice golf course.

My business partner has two kids and goes to the Hilton (or Hyatt?) Grand Champion. He says it is very family-friendly. Enjoy!:)

Thanks for the input.
Looks like I'll stay away from the "Stadium" course, will try the water park, and look into those hotels.
Thanks again,
J

The very best period... Excellent courses and more then the kids can find time for.. I'll be there June 30th-July 1st
I'll be on Havasu for 5 days June 25th-the 29th.. Look for me and Sleekcraft80 in a 24' white Campbell "Running Bear" and a yellow 21' Hondo.

Where ever you stay, you have to try LG's steak house. Little pricey, but very good.

Marriott, Westin, Hyatt are all nice. If you like Mexican food (I forgot the name of the place) there is a great place on the main hwy coming into PS that is really good.

This is probably my favorite place to stay out there. As far as golf courses, most of them have lowered their rates for the summer, so its hard to pick a bad one.

La Quinta Resort and Spa.... they have around 100 pools, with around 5 different golf courses. Lots to do with the family and kids. Spa, tennis, basketball you name it.
We stay there twice a year.

Las Casuelas. There are 2 of them in Palm Springs. One is the original and the other is the Terraza. The original is a hole in the wall with a simple menu and better food. The Terraza is nicer settting but I don't care for the fufu menu and it is more $$. The original is the place to go.
LG's is great for a steak as in Kaisers Grill and the Chop House. For Italian food check out Johnny Costas.
All of these places are on Palm Canyon in Palm Springs.
A trip on the tram is always nice too.

My girlfriends & I go there every year for a spa get-a-way and we never miss a night of margaritas & dinner at Las Casuelas. LG's is awesome!! Roy's Hawaiian is also good & a unique change.

It's a gay 90's town. You are either gay or in your 90's if you live there. I grew up in PS and in the last 10 years or so it has been taken over by the gay community. Not that there is anything wrong with that...........

Those are all expensive courses to play on, especially the stadium. Check out Desert Willow off of country club across from the marriott desert springs. Call up cimarron in Cathedral city in the wash, they should be inexpensive. If you want to work on your short game for a few bucks you can try Royal palms in Bermuda dunes/palm desert they have 18 par 3 holes. I agree knots would be the best pool place to take the kids, 2 other great busy pools would be marriott desert springs and esmeralda off of hwy 111. Forget LG's if your going to spend that kind of money you mite as well go to the rattlesnake at the casino and get a better steak for the same kind of money. For a good view of the fireworks on the 4th of july take a drive up Hwy 74 to vista point to see all the citys fireworks shows, if not go to the Palm desert park next to COD and try to find a place to sit on the grass with the drunk old people.
