Why do some boat's (I'm not talking jet's) throw up big roostertails similar to that of a jet boat? What are they running compared to a standard bravo 1, imco, or equivalent?

Surface drives.

Or you can always just trim up for the photo op. :D

Or, if you have a clamp-on, just bring the trim & jack-plate up.

Surface drives.
They are only surface drives if your boat is fast:D

:D yep just like that. You always see boat's with #6's throwing them, what is it about those drives? I know they handle all the power and run different props, and nosecones and all that crazy shit! I wonder if it's just the power they are putting out?

The run higher up towards the surface of the water. Throw a little trim at it and it throws the huge tail.

When my boat was trimmed good it would look just like Miguels. If it was ruff stuff of course nose down and no photo op!
I did have extrention boxes and I think that made a big difference.
