My trip to the lake was cut short. I always make sure it cranks before I go to the ramp......my carbs were dry ....mechanical pump would not seem to do it ......so I was gonna drain some fuel from the separator filter to dump in the carbs ....and it fell apart as soon as I touched it, draining the fuel in the filter into the bilge..:eek: ......guess I need to change it now...
The part # on it is car quest 86123 which, according to the car quest web site, is a 6.2 liter GMC diesel water sep. filter....I guess it worked....it rusted from the inside...
If this would have broke while underway ....and filled the bilge ....right behind the starter with 110 octane....the engine likely would have quit...and when I would have hit the key to restart.....:jawdrop:
