laying around for a reasonable price? I'm taking the Stevens back out this weekend and would like to try running it without the grate, then with a loader to see what difference getting rid of that friggin' grate will make.

Some things just don't come easy on this boat, but thanks to Vic, I have 2 loaders to test. This loader is a open ramp loader that has about 5/8" of bite. Too much? Hell, I don't know... I'll find out next weekend. The other loader is your basic angle iron loader and has even more bite than this one.

For months I have been trying to find a boot to seal the tiller arm to the transom. I found this boot that is made for a Jeep twin stick. The cool part is, it'll make 2 boots... spares are good with something this old

Here's the finished product. I don't know if this is how it looked in 1965, but it looks relatively OEM, and will keep the river out.
