I took my boat out this afternoon for the first time in quite a while. About half way across the lake she died and refused to start back up. After being towed back to the launch by a very nice family I trailered her and drove her home. Once home my neighbor came over and suggested that we remove the left cylider head. Holy Schnikeez, the piston was disentigrated. My question to y'all is this, Where can I find a descent 175-200 hp Merc that wont cost me an and a leg? Does anyone know anyone who might be interested in rebuilding this motor? Please let me know asap, otherwise I will be forced to take it to Newport boats and pay alottttt of $$ and from what I understand will have to wait a longgg time to get her back.
