Heard some chat at the local watering hole here in So Cal that the casino in Havasu is being expandedÂ…any truth to this?
I have been in this little casino from time to time and it sure could use some improvementsÂ…

It's on the California side of Havasu. The red ferry docks right under the bridge under Barley Brothers and can take you to the casino for $2

Thats been a rumor for a couple yrs now.....Those indians are so crooked and greedy that they can't get it together.....anyone with a history at the landing knows what I mean

From Windsor Beach launch ramp, head accross the lake, veer a bit north.
It's a little smokey casino, reminds me of a early Blue Water Casino in Parker.
They sell beer etc, and have slots, and a few card tables including 3 card poker.I've won a few dollars there in the past.:D
Last time I was there the docks were over ran with tall grass, I had to remove all the grass,reeds once I left the marina.:mad:
It's a good place to escape from the heat during the middle of the day, but if you are a non smoker like me, it can get a bit "thick". There is a "shuttle" that runs back and forth from the bridge...someone in this thread stated it's a couple bucks.

They just finished a exspansion a couple of years ago, & Last I heard they still had not finished paying back the money they borrowed form the San Manuel tribe for that fiasco.

That about nails it on the head. I have heard so many stories about expansion it can make your head spin. They are putting in a new dock for Shuttle and courtesy dock, our little general store is going to be remodeled/expanded this summer as well. As for the loan from San Manuels, we have been told it has been paid off (or maybe forgiven?) so maybe they think it is time to see what they can do again. There is a still a legal mess going on with the Indians vs. BIA vs. BLM vs. State of Cal. I dont think any real expansion will ever happen.

Build a bridge around this location....How long before it gets hit enough from all the drunk bastards on the way back from the sandbar to fail or be rendered unsafe........Among the 100 other things that come to mind as to why it won't happen

Yep, rumor at the time was that they had a year to pay back the loan or turn over Gambling operations to the San Manuel tribe, they reneged.

Not to take sides, but who started all the rumors? I have heard alot of stories throughout the years. But I have never heard any of them from a Chemehuevi official... I havent seen any of this in the paper either... Maybe someone actually has spoke to an official in "the know"...
Also, I dont think its cool to bash the people or to throw up "indian pics"

I have had numerous conversations with 3 different tribal leaders, but what I stated is still Rumors because I would not attempt to speak officially for that tribe.
