This might be a silly question, but does Hot Boat Magazine have a "Graphics of the Year" Award? If so, does anybody know how far back they go?
We just purchased another Laveycraft that is allegedly the "Graphics of the Year" award winner for either 1997 or 1998. Just trying to see if this claim holds any water. If so, does anybody know where I can find archived issues? Would be nice to come up with a copy of the article.
Thanks,
Mike

I was as surprised as you when I discovered this. I thought it was just a website where people talked about non boating related topics. What will they come up with next!

Post a pic of your boat. In 97 or 98 I'm going to guess it maybe had some checkers in it?? If we know what the boat looks like, I'm sure someone here has an old issue of HB that will let us know.

Lavey's of that vintage.........I'm betting it had three or four colors (one of which is light blue) pinned in black, in ribbons running along the boat and crossing over towards the back. The black windshield is brought over the top and continues behind the guages too. Lets see how I did......

No checkers, but a great guess. You would be correct 85% of the time on boats of this vintage. Anybody else want to take a stab at it before a pic is posted?

Checkers were more of an Eliminator thing. Lavey was never big on them. Late 90's Lavey's had a lot of ribbons.....

lol. This made me think of ribbon dancing in the summer olympics. Here is a pic. Hopefully somebody has some old issues laying around.

Wow, that whole ribbon dancing comment sounded pretty gay. Gonna have to call myself out on that one.

I'd be even more funny if you knew the owner of the boat!!!! :D :D :D (just kidding Michael! :D )
I don't remember seeing your boat before. If it was written up in an article in the '90's though, Lavey would probably have it. They frame a lot of their aricles. That ribbon boat pictured above was featured in Hot Boat the Magazine in ~'97.
