Ok guys I am not trippin' on the velocity stacks. I actually like them myself.I was curious because I was watching the tape of the world finals and all of them had stacks. I was thinking it was a rule or something. 396 :D wink :D wink

I think it helps flow air better, thats what I am told I had a scoop and my ss motor and ran like shit put a stack on her a it ran great, but then you got other guys that run the scoop and fly around the track. Like what ss70 and ss80 run. It must me a superstock thing :D

Well, maybe the scoop was too small or didn't flow right??, to me, air going across the stack would cause a siphon effect instead of a force effect?, I know my scoop works better than a stack, at least it does on mine???......

I have them on my boat and it helps restrict the fuel going in thus burning less fuel :) :) :)

I thought it was a way to keep water from getting splashed up into the motor, same thing with the injectors being turned around in the K's.

When the law said you had to have spark arresters it changed to scoops. I still have a set of stacks that were made by Louie Unser, they were the best.

In my boat a woman with long hair couldn't set in the rear seat,it would be sucked in the carb's

As far as I'm concerned, The stack looks great and has a small venturi or nozzel effect. Example; large garden hose with a small nozzel= increased flow rate so the water shoots further. Intake velocity at the carb is improved as compared to nothing at all, and better throttle response is noticible. Most important, the carb can feed from air on ALL sides, reducing power robbing turbulance. In conclusion, I like to keep water out of my poor engine so I run a scoop turned around {I dont have a cool stack} and with the mag cover, I stay running after the face wash! wink Jerkstwocents
