Got 2 660's on BBC. TR. Want to replace them w/ mech. secondary 4150 DP's.
Am leaning towards Holley 600 cfm # 0-4776's.
Anybody run these? If not, what is a good 600 mech. to use on TR, in line?
454 w/ .575 284* (245* @ .050), Brodix Rect. 280cc runners, 10:1.

Why not two 750's? after all an engine is an air pump why not put more air in it and make more power?

Mostly for partial throttle efficiency. Don't want to hassle w/ vacuum's though.
I think w/ the moderate cam 2 600's may be a better choice than the 750's. Just looking to see if anybody has ran these 600's inline with any luck.
Thanks for any and all input.

Have never run 600's but I think an ideal carb for you would be the 6109 750's. I don't think they make them anymore but they can be mounted in line, are mechanical secondary and have power valve circuits.
If you are like most guys a bigger motor may be in your future and it would be nice to have the 750's.

Thanks,
found a couple pairs on ebay, new pair for $1100, used pair at $400.00 and climbing. Used ones always seem to end up costing as much as new ones once the worn out shafts and all the holes are fixed.
Really do not want to spend that much. Gotta be a cheaper alternative.
Thanks for the input, will keep looking.

Go with the List #6109 750s. They were designed to go together and they will fit in-line. Dual feed, meter blocks at both ends so it uses replaceable jets on all four corners. Progressive linkage with power valves on the primarys.

OK, you guys have sold me. I certainly appreciate the advice and will contact the guy about the used pair and the new pair. Maybe I can talk the guy down with the new ones.:D :D

Just and idea for you, I had two 750's in line, I took four primary float bowls off 600 vac secondary carbs, the hole that has the tube that feeds the secondaries will tap to 1/8 npt, I put a stainless allen head pipe plug in there and no leaks, you will have side hung float bowls and be able to run double pumpers in line, or just spend the hundy for the linkage and be done with it.

TG,
Check with Stahl Carburetors. He is a carburetor remanufacturer and does great work.
Lyle Stahle's attention to the Holley carb specs is better than Holley Inc. themselves (he machines to tighter tolerances, etc,). He has the 6109’s in stock, rebuilt and ready to ship:

These carbs are completely refurbished "as new" carbs for a screamin' deal, and at $700 for the pair, that is a hell of a lot better than new ones for $1100 that you mentioned. Additionally, note that the above pictured carbs are powdercoated and have the choke horns milled off. Deal of the century, if you ask me. He will even jet them for you (in the ballpark) if you tell him the application and engine combo.
Go to the link below, click on "contact seller" and tell him "Paul Kane" sent you...he knows me pretty well and so he will take care of you. ;)

I am with Paul on this one.
I bought a carb off him for my last boat. I told him what to jet it at (based on a recommendation for a very smart source) and I bolted it on, adjusted the a/f and that sucker did not skip a beat for two years, then I sold the boat and the new owner still runs and and said it is great.
I have sent other people his way as well and nothing but good things all around.

Can anybody post a pic of how they routed the feed lines when running these 6109's in-line? I have the regulator that came with the blue marine holley pump.
1 Inlet, 2 outlets, no return.
Here is a pic. Can't get my zoom and crop to work, but if you zoom in you can see it OK.
Thanks!!, Tommy

count me in on loving the 6109`s. Been running the same pair of them since 1982 on a 468 chevy, lunati roller motor in a youngblood TX-19.
