Painting gas tanks

Would there be a down side to painting my side tanks black???

the only thing i could think of is that it would heat up your fuel even more in the sun, which could cause an increased possibility of vapor lock by the time it got to the induction system and could possibly cause more evaporation through the venting process.

what he said... I would also be worried about it expanding and discharging gas out the breather... clean up/ fines could be a little pricy.
