my motor just did the same thing...i bet almost 100% that it messed up the lifter and turned the cam flat. how long were you running it like that? what kind of lifters do u have?

If the rockers nuts are still tight:
see if one rocker is not moving as far as the others ;)

The rocker nut was loose. I tightened it down. And turned the motor over and the rocker that was loose moves a 1/4" less then the rest of the rockers.

It sounds like the cam went flat. It may have wiped out or from the rocker coming loose hammered itself flat.

Rocker nuts shouldnt come loose, the cam went flat first therefore giving you the impression that the nut came loose when infact it was right where it was supposed to be before the cam went flat. I hate it when that happens!

Before you put the rest of the cam material throught the entire motor and wipe out everything.
Been there done that.

Call up comp cams. Time for some parts. Your probably looking at like $4-500 for another hyd setup. Ask SGV40, he is doing the same thing.

I believe that the rocker nut came loose. After I tightened the rocker back down, the nut was 4 treads down. Just like the rest. Im going to try and run her one more time. If not Jegs.com has a cam and lifter set for $183.

Call me brother. Find somone to help you out there, and take a quick look. Don't run her if your cam is going flat. Don't buy cheap shit either.

your much better off ordering it directly from comp. call them and ask for bo. you wont have to wait on hold he does it quick. he really knows what he is talkin about too. plus you will get a better deal.

If you do need to replace the cam, I would also recomend doing a kit with springs, retainers etc. That way everything is new, and is the right setup.

Also it must be going around, because I just broke the motor in for my picklefork and had the #2 intake rocker fall off. Did no damage as it must have fallen off right when I shut it off. Lifter is good, didnt come out of the bore, pushrod didnt get damaged, and everything else looks good.

Well I tightened down the rocker and took it out after work. With no luck:mad: . Still got popping and dieing problems now. I think the dieing problem is I set the needle too low. I pulled the carb apart. So out will come the motor, and cam, and lifters.
Why does this sh*t happen when you have someone interested in buying it?
