Rooster Tail

[75 Eliminator]

Hi, I was wondering what the best way to get an awesome looking rooster tail would be? My boat already has a jetavator on it or what ever you call it, where I have a shift lever looking thing mounted in the boat. I have a berkely jet.

Well, you got the part. When you put the nossle up is there a roost? If you have a split bowl, you could put some wedge in and get more roost. The bigger the roost the slower you go. More HP works too!

Yes it has some roost to it, but I would like that tall long looking rooster tail like everybody else has. What are some more options?

You could get a bowl-transition-adapter(aka Rooster Booster). Throws a hell of a roost:)

I swear the hyd. diverter has much more travel than a cable operated one such as yours... talk to the gurus about that claim though.
Add a droop snoot, that did my little nordic wonders for big roosts

I like killer rooster tails, but not so much when they look like a stream of water...I think the long ones look better than high ones, IMO:)

I don't believe the 12-jc is the split bowl. That bowl is one piece from the intake to the pivot points on the nozzle. On a split bowl there is an extra bolted flange before the nozzle pivot point

if you have a jc you dont have a split bowl.you need a jg bowl.:idea:

Here are some more pics as requested. It's basically just a big wedge. To tell you the truth I rarely put the diverter all the way up 'cause it dramatically lifts the bow of the boat and speed becomes seriously compromised. If you're looking to shoot water really high though this will do it.

If you are looking to convert, try PMing taylormanss here on the boards. He was parting out a cruiser recently. Had the G bowl, droop, diverter w/controls pretty cheap.....

Thanks for the tip! When you say "warped" what are you saying. I mean what do you see?? I'm a newbie trying to learn everything I can. I just know how to throw the hammer down, shoot water all over the place, and annoy the hell out of all the roll-bar boats:D

Take a stright edge to your ride plate from front to back. A lot fo ride plates bend/warp. When you get you new one, get some angle alum and bolt it to the sides, adds strengh.

The rideplate. If you put a straight edge on it you will see what I mean.
