Hi Guys,
Given that everything else is operating properly, can a bad ignition module cause a GM big block motor to stumble and mis-fire at 4,000 RPM and above?
Thanks for any help.

GM Ignition modules can go out in the high side, But it is normally not noticed in autos.

Thanks for the info MD. The motor is in my 21' jet boat. I've checked out everything else that might cause this to happen, and can't find anything obvious. There was a little oil on the distributor base plate around the module. I pulled the distributor and checked for leaks, but everything looks good. The only thing I can think of is that the module itself spit the oil out. Anyway, I'm gonna replace it and see what happens over the July 4th week up at Havasu. Thanks again.

I would replace the module, But first check your gas (now that it has had time to settle). pull the fuel line off the pump and get about half a pint out int a clear container and give it a little time to settle to make shure it is not a little water in the gas.
If the gas is good, replace the module.
